Oily skin skincare routine can determine your skin if you can customize a skincare routine that will work best for your specific skin. There are lots of skincare routines for different types of skin.
Oily skin skincare routine can be changed over time when your skin will change from dry to oily, or vice versa. A couple of weeks ago, my skin was dry, but I control it with some natural remedies for dry skin. So I think natural resources will work out well with oily skin.
Oily skin can be controlled in many ways that you cannot imagine. I understand the greasy part, rough in texture, and your pores to be large and visible. But did you think what caused it and ways it can be prevented?
Did you notice that in warmer months, your skin has increased the production of sebum? Most people experienced this, and they look for skincare products that will keep oily skin at bay. And these products will give you an overall improvement to your health. Like no more breakouts, pimples, and acne. Just a smooth and radiant skin.
Effective Oily Skin Skincare Routine
Honey is the favorite ingredient for natural remedies, and you cannot blame it because it works perfectly. Aside from oil control, you can observe a clean and soft hand after using honey.
Oily skin is caused by unmoisturized skin. So here is the simple way that I did when I want to eliminate sebum in my skin.
- A spoonful of honey, buttermilk, and one egg yolk are the ingredients to mix.
- Please apply to your clean skin and let it sit for about 30 minutes.
- Rinse with warm water and see the difference.
Other than masks, cleansing is essential. Using honey, you can have a good mixture of cleanser with coconut or jojoba oil. Using your hand, get some honey and add some oil before spreading to your face and avoiding your eyes. Then rinse with warm water.
In majority, your oily skin skincare routine can include honey and unique ingredients. One of these ingredients is ground almonds. You can make a good mixture of honey and almonds to have some homemade scrubs that will help you exfoliates the skin. Moisture can be found in almonds and honey, so combining them can give you an incredible effect on your skin. So here is what you need to do. My preparation for honey almond exfoliating scrub is the following:
- Get two teaspoons of ground almonds and honey so you can make a paste form.
- Then rub gently into your face in a circular motion.
- Rinse water if you are done with your whole face.
You can also do this exfoliating scrub to your body. Just increase the amount with the same amount of quantity.
Every time season changes, our skin reacts. And for an oily skin skincare routine, you will need a lotion that will keep your skin moisturized and keep the sebum at bay. My formula and routine consist of the following:
- Mix a spoon of honey, olive oil, and lemon juice. I added lemon to brighten my skin.
- After achieving a lotion-like mixture, I started applying it to my skin.
- For 20 minutes, I wiped it off with a warm washcloth.
A right combination of honey for oily skin skincare routine is milk. Milk has moisture properties that your skin needs, especially when you want to lessen the sebum production. Carefully follow the oily skin skincare routine.
- Get half cup of honey and milk and mixed in a bowl.
- Then apply to your skin for 10 minutes and let it dry.
- If the honey only has a little amount of moisture, you can wash it with warm water.
Aside from moisture, milk and honey can nourish your skin and look more radiant than before. Perform this routine daily.
Antibacterial Face Masks
Bacteria cause acne, breakouts, and pimples in our open pores, and without proper cleaning, it will make our skin too oily. Using honey and banana, you can have a natural mask that can control the production of oil in your skin.
You need to mash a half banana with a teaspoon of honey in a mixing bowl. Then apply the mixture to your face for two minutes and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water to make sure no banana leftovers to your face.
You can apply this solution to your oily skin for the best skincare routine three times a week at max. It works well because banana and honey have a hydrating effect on your skin. With the antibacterial properties, it can protect your skin from free radicals. The development of bacteria in your skin should be stopped before it can cause more damage.
Unclogging Pores Face Masks
Another natural remedy for oily skin that I am using is a combination of honey and oatmeal. Open pores became the source of all things that can happen in your skin. So this will explain blemishes, blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, acne, and breakouts.
If you want to avoid these as early as possible, you will need to prepare two tablespoon oatmeal and a single spoon of honey. Turn the grain into a powder then add honey in a mixing bowl. Apply to your face and scrub gently for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water afterward.
By doing this once a week, it can give your skin antioxidants, nourish, and protect your skin from inflammation. Aside from making an oily skin skincare routine, you now have a whole package on how to care for your oily skin.
Complete Face Masks
Since you are making all stuff with honey, why don’t you give a try of making a face mask with honey, cucumber, and milk? The combination of these ingredients will make an excellent mask for your oily skin skincare routine.
Give or take, you can prepare these face masks in 5 minutes.
- Get half slice of cucumber, cut into small pieces.
- Next, smashed it with one spoon of milk and honey.
- Mixed the ingredients in a bowl and apply to your face. You can also consider your neck.
- Leave it for 30 minutes and wash.
You can do this for about thrice a day. But it depends on the level of your sebum production. Also, it helps calm your skin and cleanses it thoroughly. So you have no worries of bacteria situating in your pores.
Sharing My Thoughts
You may wonder why honey is good for oily skin?
As one of the wonders in beauty routines, honey has been a part of different skin regimens. There are some proven studies way back Greeks and Egyptians that they used honey for healing wounds and excellent benefits.
Some notable effects of honey on our daily beauty routines are the following:
- Honey has great antibacterial agents, and with it, it helps alleviate many skin infections.
- It gives moisture to skin with its high sugar content and low pH that restricts bacterial growth. It also prevents wrinkle formation and makes you look younger.
