Oily Skin Prevention Beauty Routines
Cleanser with Salicylic Acid
I was wondering how to control oily skin? As part of my cleansing regimes, cleansing is one of the essential beauty routines. But look for cleansing products with 2% of salicylic acid. This percentage of salicylic acid helps break down the oil in our pores. But it does not overdry my skin. As a precaution, damp a cloth with your choice of cleaning solution and rub it to your hand. See if the area you tested does not overdry.

Exfoliation with Salicylic Acid
Exfoliation is essential as cleansing and, of course, using salicylic acid. Using products with a high amount of salicylic acid can reduce oil production. With exfoliation, it loosens the dirt and oil in the pores. How? The beads in exfoliating products gently loosen the skin. Make sure you rub it gently, so no overdoing it.
Sunscreen
Primers and Moisturizer
Speaking of moisturizer, it is one of the skincare routines essentials that will inhibit excessive oil production in our skin. It balances the water and oil, which helps to protect our skin.
The primers, on the other hand, really helpful for shine-free skin that will last a day. Not bad actually because it covers large pores and retains makeup until the day is over.
Mineral Makeup
Use a toner and keep hydrated.
Another way to regulate skin so you will know how to control oily skin is to use toner. Most of the toner has lactic hydroxy acids that will help dry-oily skin. It sets the skin layers to prevent too much production of oil.
Perfect toner solution can still keep your skin hydrated. But make sure you have a mist sprayer for your face for a quick hydrating solution.
Healthy Diet
Of course, diet is vital to prevent oily skin. Healthy foods affect our body, so loading up with fruits and vegetables like carrots and spinach, which are rich in vitamin A can slow the oil production of our body. So it goes the same with our skin.
How to control oily skin does not focus only on your face. It also affects our bodies. So for my body, I use body wash with tea tree ingredients. Tea tree extracts are natural ingredients used for acne-treating components. It will make soft and smooth skin.
Habits that Worsen Oily Skin
Doing skincare routines and eating healthy foods is not the only way on how to control oily skin. On my part, some habits need to be avoided to prevent the overproduction of oil in our skin.
I avoided some of my regimens, which affects my body’s oil production to make my skincare routines effective.
1. Washing more than twice a day.
Instead, twice a day washing is the ideal to create a fresh skin and get rid of the coat of makeup.
2. Pore Clogging Products
Some products can be used for skin. But watch out for skincare products that can only make the oil production of your skin worse. They increase the chance of skin breakouts.
Instead, use non-comedogenic products and expect that the results will not affect the pores. Natural oil will not get trapped, as well.
3. Over scrubbing
Scrubbing is part of exfoliation products that I enjoy. But too much scrubbing is not what I should do. Aggressive scrubbing of the skin can increase oil production.
Instead, look for products with salicylic acid, which can help dissolve oils. Also, make sure to scrub the face to avoid oily and dry skin gently.
4. Overuse of Cleansing Brush
One of my favorites is the cleansing brush. It helps my skin to address the overproduction of oil and clogging of pores. But overuse of brush has adverse effects such as stimulation of more oil. The main reason why I am using a cleansing brush is to make sure no clogged pores.
5. Stress
