Cancer is unpredicted but avoidable. Jacob, a 40 years old man, is fighting with cancer. Lying in Hospital bed, and thinking about his lifetime habits. “No, I did not have any bad habit that is now becoming a threat to my life” telling himself. All through his life, he was far away from alcohol consumption, and smoking was way beyond his imagination. Then what went wrong, why he has Cancer?

Cancer seem to be incurable, this is true. Though it is a fictional story, however, in our lifetime, many of us have seen this sort of pathetic story around us. Maybe it happened to our dearest one or any family friend. Perhaps, some of you have not experienced this cruel truth. We usually do not want to think of being sick. Also, we cannot deny the fact that, many of us have the mindset that if we do not have any bad habit, we will not be a victim of Cancer. However, this is not always the truth. Sometimes many innocuous-seeming foods can cause cancer. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, processed meat can cause cancer, and red meat is a possible cause of this disease.

Not only these foods, but also there are so many innocuous- seeming foods we are taking without knowing the fact that these foods are silent killers. Below are the most significant carcinogen culprits that you possibly eat regularly.

According to the Breast Cancer Fund, almost all canned foods contain one kind of chemical called bisphenol-A, or BPA. This chemical interrupts regular hormonal activities. Thus, it leads to different types of cancer. Since tomatoes are highly acidic, BPA makes it deadly.  However, we cannot deny the fact that tomatoes have so many benefits also. You can use fresh tomatoes when you cook.  If you want to prepare red sauce try to store them in glass jars.

Hydrogenation is a chemical process in which hydrogen is supplemented with liquid oils to turn them into a solid form. Hydrogenated oils are vegetable oils, which are used to preserve processed foods and they are low at cost also. Vegetable oils contain high levels of omega-6 fatty acids, which can increase the risk of cancer. Try healthy oil like olive oil while cooking a meal.

Refined Sugar promotes cancer growth. Artificial sweeteners are also carcinogenic. Try to avoid refined sugar and artificial sweeteners also. If you want to replace sugar with artificial sweeteners then you must know you are not doing justice to your health, instead, try drinking tea without any sugar. It won’t taste bad if you build the habit to it.
